Heritage Open Days - September 2017
The Great Barn will be open between 10am to 5pm on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th.
During WW2, the Special Operations Executive took over the Manor House in Wanborough and ran training school STS5 for their agents, who were then sent behind enemy lines.
This year, in addition to the exhibition content inside The Great Barn featuring the SOE, there will be a unique opportunity to understand more about the role of one of the most famous of the agents passing through Wanborough - Noor Inayat Khan.
A vibrant and poignant multi-media audio-visual imagines the important stages of Noor's spy training. She was an Indian Princess whose courage earned her a legacy as one of only three women ever awarded Britain's highest civilian honour for service in the resistance in enemy occupied territory during the Second World War.
